My Double Page Spead

This is my double page spead.
With my target audience in mind i added decoration to the top right hand corner; hearts. I believe this will appeal to my target audience as it is girly. I have also used a lot more colour on this page as i find it is more important, as the target audience will be on this page for a while, reading the interview. I have also made sure that there is not that much text, by using different fonts, colours and sizes the page becomes more appealing and my target audience will become more likely to read this page. I have also used two pictures, one big one and a smaller one in the middle of the text, this is to break up the text and make the text more easy to read.

This is my final front cover.
Since the last front cover that i posted i have made a few changes, including the back ground image. I have also changed the fonts in three different ways; style, colour and size. My reasoning behind this is because i belive it makes my overall magazine more appealing to the target audience. Other changes i have made have been done as a cause of the change in image, because the image is of a grey scale i believed the mast head became too hard to read and it is important to be able to read it, so i changed colour of a few and made them white as i didn't want to add too much colour to the masthead as it would take away from the plugs and articles.

Planning my Double Page Spread

The things in which i want to include in my double page spread would be pictures that are relevant and fit well within my double page spread as well as having eye catching fonts which would appeal to my target audience. I will make sure to use eye catching colours also because it will be more likely to sell but also because it makes it easier to read as it is easier on the eye, rather than using bulk text that is one colour. I also plan to use a drop cap but one that is girly as if it is too normal and what you'd expect to be in a magazine aimed at an older audience it won't fit in. I will also use images which the text will go around, rather than through as it is well suited to my target audience.

Research of Similar Products

I like the different text sizes that have been used within this double page spread and i am likely to interpret this in my own double page spread. I also like how the image used is anchored by the text and that it is spread over a whole page as you are then able to see the image well. However i think there is a bit too much writing used as it covers a whole page also but it doesn't have any breaks and is bulk text which can sometimes put the reader off reading the article especially my target audience.


I have chosen this double page spread as it would've had a similar target audience age as mine so i would have to make mine look a bit like this as it would be more likely to appeal to my target audience. I like that this double page spread has used pictures and different colour fonts to break up the text as it would be more likely to be read than the previous one, by my target audience. However i will have to make sure that mine falls in between of these two and one is aimed at an older audience and the other younger.
